About the Coalition

In response to budgetary cuts and eligibility changes to the Taylor Opportunity Program for Students (TOPS),

a group of organizations came together in June 2016 to form the Louisiana College Access Coalition (LCAC).

A main priority for the LCAC is to continue robust funding for TOPS, the main scholarship source for students across the state.

The Louisiana College Access Coalition advocates on behalf of students and families in Louisiana to ensure that all young people have equitable access to college.

Our mission is to ensure Louisiana high school graduates, especially first-generation college students and those who are from low-income households, have equitable access to affordable higher education in their home state.
